Legacy Academy Statement of Faith

Multiple hands of different ages holding a wooden cross together.

Legacy Academy is a Christ-centered homeschool co-op that operates from a biblical worldview. The following statement reflects the doctrinal convictions that shape our teaching, leadership, and overall direction as a ministry. Families do not have to agree with every point in full to inquire or seek more information, but they should understand that these beliefs will shape the environment, instruction, and values of Legacy Academy.

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God and is the final standard for truth, faith, and practice. We believe Scripture is sufficient to guide how we live, believe, teach, and raise our children.

We believe in one true God, eternally existing in perfect unity as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe He is the Creator of all things and is holy, sovereign, and worthy of all worship, obedience, and glory.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of mankind, was buried, and rose again bodily on the third day. We believe He ascended into heaven, reigns at the right hand of God, and will come again.

We believe that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ. We believe that in response to the gospel, people must believe in Christ, repent of sin, confess His name, and be baptized for the remission of sins, according to the teaching of the New Testament.

We believe that the church belongs to Christ, that He is its head, and that His people are called to live in truth, holiness, love, and obedience to His Word.

We believe that God created mankind in His image as male and female, and that sex is a God-given reality established by Him from birth. Because of this, we believe that gender is not fluid and cannot be redefined by personal desire or cultural opinion.

We believe that marriage is ordained by God as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman. We believe this design is good, purposeful, and reflects God’s created order.

We believe that parents are the primary God-given disciplers of their children, and that they bear the chief responsibility to bring them up in the nurture and instruction of the Lord. We believe Christian education should support that calling by keeping Christ and His Word at the center of every area of learning.

We believe that all truth is God’s truth, and because of that, education is never neutral. Every subject should be approached through the lens of Scripture and in submission to the authority of Christ.

We believe that all people are made in the image of God and should be treated with dignity, kindness, and respect. At the same time, we believe that true love does not require the compromise of biblical truth, and Legacy Academy will seek to uphold both grace and truth in all that we do.

Deuteronomy 6:4-7

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And now these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
